The Center for Girls was founded on April 15, 1998, on the initiative of two volunteers of SOS Helpline for Women and Children Victims of Violence. The aim of its foundation was to improve the social position of young women through their education and emancipation.
THE MISSION of the Center for Girls is girls' and young women's empowerment through education, activism and creativity.
In January, the Project Management Training was organized as a part of the capacity building of the Center for Girls in Niš. Six-day training, divided into two parts, was held by Tatjana Obradović Tošić, an instructor.
In order to mark the European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, the activists of the Center for Girls organized a street action. On Saturday, January 23, ten activists carried banners to remind passers-by that this type of cancer may be prevented and cured.
46 educational workshops on the following subjects: The Prevention of Girl Trafficking, The Prevention of Violence against Girls, Girls' Reproductive Health, and Women's Human Rights, involving 493 participants;
4 lectures on the following subjects: Girls' Reproductive Health, Feminism and Art, and The Short History of Feminism, involving 102 participants;
