The Center for Girls was founded on April 15, 1998, on the initiative of two volunteers of SOS Helpline for Women and Children Victims of Violence. The aim of its foundation was to improve the social position of young women through their education and emancipation.
THE MISSION of the Center for Girls is to empower children, girls and women through support, education, activism and creativity.
The Center for Girls started the campaign 16 days of activism against violence against women with the workshops Prevention of violence against girls and women and the performance of the play “I am an emotional being” at the Textile and Design School in Leskovac.
The Center for Girls starts 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST MALE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN in the Leskovac Cultural Center today, opening the exhibition Existence from the IV Feminist Art Colony in Sićevo.
On October 18, 2018, on TV Kopernikus, the executive coordinator of the Centre for Girls Tatjana Nikolic made a detailed review of the educational work of the organization with, first and foremost, young girls on the prevention and recognition of sexual violence.
