The Center for Girls was founded on April 15, 1998, on the initiative of two volunteers of SOS Helpline for Women and Children Victims of Violence. The aim of its foundation was to improve the social position of young women through their education and emancipation.
THE MISSION of the Center for Girls is to empower children, girls and women through support, education, activism and creativity.
The Center for Girls did a training about human trafficking for peer educators at the end of January and the beginning of February 2017. The training was organized for the new, young activists of the Center for Girls. In the training, the girls gained necessary knowledge about human trafficking, its forms and the means of prevention.
For the second year in a row, the Center for Girls commemorated the European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week. During the campaign, Simona Dašić, a gynaecologist and the Center for Girls associate, held interactive lectures on the prevention of cervical cancer in high schools we cooperate with.
The Center for Girls Strategic Plan monitoring was performed on December 26 and 27, 2016. The monitoring meeting was attended by four coordinators and three activists of the Center for Girls.
