The Center for Girls was founded on April 15, 1998, on the initiative of two volunteers of SOS Helpline for Women and Children Victims of Violence. The aim of its foundation was to improve the social position of young women through their education and emancipation.
THE MISSION of the Center for Girls is girls' and young women's empowerment through education, activism and creativity.
On October 18, 2018, on TV Kopernikus, the executive coordinator of the Centre for Girls Tatjana Nikolic made a detailed review of the educational work of the organization with, first and foremost, young girls on the prevention and recognition of sexual violence.
In the pedestrian zone, the citizens of Niš and the guests staying in Niš were able to ask the activists from the Centre for Girls everything they wanted to know about human trafficking, like what human trafficking is, what kinds of human trafficking exist, who to ask for help, how to recognize human trafficking, etc. This action is a part of the media campaign called "Recognize human trafficking" which is carried out by the Centre for Girls.
The Feminist Art Colony was founded on the 8th of October at the ART55 gallery. This unique art colony provides the artists from this region the possibility to connect, exchange and gain some new experiences, but also to occupy public space.
