The Center for Girls was founded on April 15, 1998, on the initiative of two volunteers of SOS Helpline for Women and Children Victims of Violence. The aim of its foundation was to improve the social position of young women through their education and emancipation.
THE MISSION of the Center for Girls is to empower children, girls and women through support, education, activism and creativity.
Activists of the Center for Girls held a street action in the center of Niš, sending a message that abortion, as a woman's right, must stay legal, free and available to every woman.
Tatjana Nikolić and the actress of the National Theater in Niš, Dragana Jovanović, performed the play "Oxygen" in Kosovska Mitrovica and on that occasion drew the attention of the citizens of Kosovska Mitrovica to the challenges and problems that women face.
The Center for Girls continues education about the problem of human trafficking in Niš. For the first time, young men were included in the education.
