The project of the Center for Girls "Improving the fight against human trafficking in Niš and Leskovac" is implemented within the activities to strengthen the capacity and capability of local civil society organizations to prevent and combat human trafficking, implemented by NGO ASTRA within the project "Improving space and opportunities to fight against trafficking in human beings ", supported by the European Union.

The project deals with providing direct support to victims and persons at risk of becoming victims of trafficking, especially women and children, as well as providing cooperation and coordination between CSOs and relevant actors at the local level in order to provide more effective support to victims. Also, the project contributes to raising public awareness on the prevention of human trafficking, but also the importance of the role of CSOs.

The goals of the project are:

Providing support to victims and persons at risk of becoming victims of trafficking, especially women and children, Ensuring cooperation and coordination between CSOs and relevant actors at the local level in providing more effective support to victims and persons at potential risk of becoming victims of trafficking, especially women and children, Raising public awareness of the importance of the role of CSOs, as well as the prevention of human trafficking.

The project will last from January to December 2021. And within it are planned: workshops "What do you know about human trafficking", round tables, street performances "Recognize human trafficking and report it!" In two cities, but also direct support potential victims of trafficking through SOS interviews, psychological and legal assistance. There will be a current campaign on social networks throughout the project.
