The Center for Girls was founded on April 15, 1998, on the initiative of two volunteers of SOS Helpline for Women and Children Victims of Violence. The aim of its foundation was to improve the social position of young women through their education and emancipation.
THE MISSION of the Center for Girls is girls' and young women's empowerment through education, activism and creativity.
Women's health and sexuality is one of the three main subjects that the Center for Girls has been dealing with for many years. For the European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, Center for Girls activists handed out informative flyers to their fellow citizens and reminded them of the importance of regular gynecologist visits and self-care.
Activists from Nis marked December 18th - International Migrants Day, by handing out brochures and holding protest signs. The message sent to our fellow citizens was: "Imagine yourself in their shoes".
We marked 2nd December - International Day for the Abolition of Slavery by holding protests signs, handing out pamphlets, and conversing with our fellow citizens in order to inform and educate them.
