The Center for Girls was founded on April 15, 1998, on the initiative of two volunteers of SOS Helpline for Women and Children Victims of Violence. The aim of its foundation was to improve the social position of young women through their education and emancipation.
THE MISSION of the Center for Girls is to empower children, girls and women through support, education, activism and creativity.
Women's Health Week 2015
In the last week of May, from May 25 to May 30, for the third time in a row, the activists of the Center for Girls organized the Women's Health Week. Two workshops, one lecture, one panel discussion, one street action and two public classes were organized during this week.
Invitation to the Feminist Art Colony in Sićevo
The Center for Girls in Niš opens a competition for the first Feminist Art Colony in Sićevo, which will be held in the period from June 23 to June 29, 2015. The competition is open from May 26 to June 10, 2015.
First ArtFemine Festival Organized
In the period from July 3 to July 6, 2014, the Center for Girls organized the first ArtFemine Festival in Niš. ArtFemine Festival was built on the foundations of FemiNiš Festival, which was organized and held by the Center for Girls and Women Space in the period from 2010 to 2013.
