The Center for Girls was founded on April 15, 1998, on the initiative of two volunteers of SOS Helpline for Women and Children Victims of Violence. The aim of its foundation was to improve the social position of young women through their education and emancipation.
THE MISSION of the Center for Girls is to empower children, girls and women through support, education, activism and creativity.
After the training on fundraising held in Petrovac in July 2016, and the training organized for the Center for Girls in November 2016 in Belgrade, both by Trag Foundation, the Center for Girls organized its first fundraising event with success.
International Day Against Fascism and Antisemitism, November 9, was commemorated by the Anti-Fascist Collective, whose member the Center for Girls is.
In November, the activists of the Center for Girls, in cooperation with the Out of Circle Network Serbia and Out of Circle Association Niš, prepared a forum theatre dealing with handicapped women. Forum theatre (IN)VISIBLE was performed during the Handicapped Women Week, which is commemorated from November 17 to 23.
