Over 2, 000 people saw the street action "One Billion Rising 2023: Rise for Freedom", which was performed by twelve activists of the Center for Girls, on the occasion of ten years since the launching of the global campaign One Billion Rising.

Over a 1, 000 different pamphlets with information about violence against women, femicide and SOS telephone numbers that women contact were distributed to fellow citizens, and the song "Break The Chain", the official song of this campaign, was played over the speakers the entire time.

The One Billion Rising campaign began as a call to action based on the statistic that one in three women on the planet will be beaten or raped in their lifetime. At the time when that research was conducted, there were seven billion people in the world, which meant that one billion girls and women in the world were going through some form of violence. With the current world population of 8 billion, that number exceeds one billion.
