PROGRAM COORDINATING BODY
The program coordination body forms the core of the organization and consists of four coordinators: Executive Coordinator and founder Tatjana Nikolić, Program Coordinator Marija Virijević, Finance Coordinator Marta Stanojević, and Coordinator for Work with Users Sara Plazinić Nikolić.
Biographies
Tatjana Nikolić is the Executive Coordinator of the Center for Girls and a trainer for Empowering Self-Defense (ESD). She began her engagement in the NGO sector by volunteering at the SOS helpline for women and children victims of violence from 1996 to 1998, after which she founded the Center for Girls. She has led and continues to lead numerous workshops on the prevention of human trafficking, women’s health and sexuality, prevention of violence against women, prevention of physical violence with elements of self-defense, and prevention of sexual violence. From 2010 to 2013, she was a member of the organizing committee of the FemiNiš festival. Since 2014, she has been a member of the organizing committee of the ArtFemine festival, and since 2015, she has been a member of the organizing committee of the Feminist Art Colony. She has been a member of the feminist-activist theater of the Center for Girls since 2011. Some of the performances and performances she has participated in include: The Vagina Monologues, Good Body, Waiting Room, I Am an Emotional Being, (In)secure, (In)visible, Oxygen, and Others’ Shoes. She is involved in forum theater training, and she was the coordinator of the Anti-Trafficking Network in Serbia from 2014 to 2019. Since 2019, she has been the coordinator of the One Billion Rising campaign for Serbia and from 2021 to 2023, the coordinator of the Regional Network South. She was a representative of the Center for Girls in the Working Group for drafting the Anti-Trafficking Law, and is currently a member of the Working Group for the development of a strategic document in the area of combating human trafficking.
Marija Virijević is the Program Coordinator of the Center for Girls and an engineer of occupational and environmental safety. She began her NGO sector engagement as an activist at the Center for Girls, and later as a consultant at the helpline for women and children victims of violence and victims of human trafficking. She is also a consultant at the Women Against Violence Network helpline. She is a member of the feminist-activist theater of the Center for Girls, where she has performed in the reading performance The Vagina Monologues, the plays I Am an Emotional Creature and Daughter, forum theaters (In)secure, (In)visible, and Invisible 45+. She conducts forum theater training and holds workshops on human trafficking and violence prevention against girls, women’s health and sexuality. She has been a member of the organizing committees for the ArtFemine festival and the Feminist Art Colony since 2016. She was the deputy representative of the Center for Girls in the Working Group for drafting the Anti-Trafficking Law and is currently the deputy in the Working Group for the development of a strategic document in the area of combating human trafficking.
Marta Stanojević is the Finance Coordinator at the Center for Girls and a professional physiotherapist. She began her NGO sector engagement by volunteering at the 3rd ArtFemine festival, after which she became involved in other activities at the Center for Girls. She completed training for holding peer workshops on human trafficking and violence against girls and has held workshops at elementary and secondary schools. She acted in the activist-feminist theater in the plays I Am an Emotional Creature, Daughter, and Invisible 40+, the reading performance The Vagina Monologues, and forum theater (In)secure. She has been a member of the organizing committees for the ArtFemine festival and the Feminist Art Colony since 2018.
Sara Plazinić Nikolić is the Coordinator for Work with Users and a philologist. She began her NGO sector engagement by participating in the street performance “Female Graveyard” of the Center for Girls. At the Center for Girls, she is involved in creating media campaigns, communicating with activists, and creating written content. She participated in the street performance “Female Graveyard,” the reading performance “The Vagina Monologues,” the play “I Am an Emotional Creature,” the performance “Others’ Shoes,” and various street actions. She leads workshops on gender-sensitive language. She is a member of the Board of the Women Against Violence Network. She has been a member of the organizing committees for the ArtFemine festival and the Feminist Art Colony since 2022.
