Through this program, the Center for Girls aims to achieve two goals:
Prevention of Violence and Human Trafficking – We carry out prevention and education related to violence and human trafficking, ensuring that at-risk individuals have relevant information based on which they can recognize violence and human trafficking, respond appropriately in these situations, and contact institutions and organizations for support and assistance. Additionally, we raise public awareness about these topics through various campaigns and street actions.
Support through Direct Work with Women in Violence and Human Trafficking – We provide timely, comprehensive, and accessible support to individuals in situations of violence and/or human trafficking, which starts with a phone call, supported by individual consultations and psychological assistance, and includes follow-up in institutions in cases where this is required. A special focus will be placed on working with mothers from vulnerable groups who are experiencing violence or human trafficking (Roma women, poor women, street children, etc.).
PROGRAM 2
CONNECTING AND FEMINIST ACTIVISM
Through this program, the Center for Girls aims to achieve two goals:
Connecting and Developing Activism through Direct Work with Other Feminist Organizations in the Country and Region – We aim to contribute to the development of activism, especially activism based on feminist principles. To achieve this, we will work on strengthening and building the capacity of organizations in the south and east of Serbia, connect with feminist festivals and conferences, and create a group of active young feminists for activism – individuals we can rely on for the realization of the programs, projects, and volunteer activities of the Center for Girls.
Promotion of Feminism through Engaged Art – In the coming period, we will continue to use various forms of art to inform the public about issues of violence, human trafficking, and women’s health, to empower women artists to speak about violence, escape violence, and address it in their artistic works. In addition to this, engaged art is of great importance for the activists of the Center for Girls. It creates a space for all of us to be more visible, to boost our own self-confidence, and prepares us for other positions in life. Art, as a tool and form, conveys the values and themes of feminism in a completely different way. Our activities in this program enable us to reach new activists, but also to empower the activists and artists who visit us.
