INFORMED AND SAFE – Empowering Self-Defense Workshops and Information Campaign

Three empowering self-defense workshops for girls and women were held: at the School of Law and Business, the School of Fashion and Beauty, and in the hall of the Medijana City Municipality. Girls and women that participated in the workshops had the opportunity to learn the 5 principles of empowering self-defense, the communication formula, how to say NO, and how to physically defend themselves through 3 strikes and 5 techniques. The workshops were led by Tatjana Nikolić.

Within the same project, the “Break the Silence” campaign was carried out, addressing violence against women, the ways it affects women from socially sensitive groups, femicide as its most extreme form, as well as “red flags” in relationships – details that can indicate that a partner may become violent. The campaign was created by Marija Virijević.

The workshops and the campaign were implemented within the project “INFORMED AND SAFE: Through Knowledge Toward a Safer City for All Girls and Women,” supported by the Medijana City Municipality.
