On World Day Against Trafficking in Persons – Raising Awareness Among Women in Niš

On the occasion of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, activists from the Center for Girls organized a street action in Niš, during which they spoke with local women about the problem of human trafficking and shared important information about this form of violence and exploitation.

The aim of the action was to inform women about what human trafficking involves, the different ways in which exploitation can occur, and why it is important to recognize risky situations and respond in time. Through direct conversations with citizens, the activists highlighted the importance of awareness and prevention, especially considering that human trafficking can take different forms and can happen to anyone.

Being informed is one of the important steps in preventing human trafficking. That is why actions like this aim to bring greater visibility to an issue that is often hidden and insufficiently understood, while encouraging citizens to talk about ways to prevent and respond to violence and exploitation and about available protection and support.

The Center for Girls is a member of the AT Network, which brings together organizations committed to combating human trafficking. As part of the network, the Center for Girls works together with seven other member organizations to strengthen prevention, raise awareness, and improve protection and support for people at risk of human trafficking.

Together, we can help make human trafficking more visible, ensure that risks are recognized in time, and make information about available support and protection accessible to everyone who needs it.
