Women’s Cemetery – 4 Femicides in 9 Days

On August 12, we performed “Women’s Cemetery” in the main street in Niš, in response to the fact that four women were killed within just nine days — four lives taken as a result of violence against women. More than 1,500 people witnessed the performance.

This is the ninth femicide in Serbia this year.

Behind every number is a woman — her life, her family, her friends, her dreams, and a future that was taken away from her.

We refuse to accept silence, the normalization of violence, or the justification of the killing of women.

Femicide is not a private matter. Femicide is a social problem. We demand concrete measures, accountability, and a system that protects women.

Women’s Cemetery is a symbol of all the women who are no longer with us.

So that no woman is ever just a number again.
