May 18 – National Day of Remembrance for Women Victims of Violence
The National Day of Remembrance for Women Victims of Violence has been observed in Serbia every year on May 18 since 2017. The date commemorates seven women who were killed in domestic and intimate partner violence on May 16, 17, and 18, 2015.
This year, activists from the Center for Girls marked the occasion with the performance titled “Women’s Cemetery”.
Through this performance, we honor the memory of all girls and women who were murdered in family and intimate partner relationships. Approximately 800 people witnessed the performance.
