With Art Violence Ends

Part of the project implemented in cooperation with Teodora Milosavljević, a young ambassador of the WAVE network (Women Against Violence Europe), was implemented in the premises of the Center for Girls. We supported her in the implementation of the With Art Violence Ends project, which talks about violence through art and opens up space for discussion on this topic.

Three workshops were held, Feminism&chill, Feminism and Renaissance, Feminism & paper, stone, as well as a picnic where the works created at the workshops were exhibited.

At the first workshop, “Feminism&chill”, 10 participants had the opportunity to watch the short animated film “Granny’s sexual life” and then analyze it with the aim of confronting the topic of violence against women through the lens of art. One of the conclusions was that you don’t have to be a great artist to create an exceptional work of art.

At the second workshop, “Feminism and Renaissance”, 11 participants made real small works of art from white canvases, on which there were symbols of what they needed at the moment: nature, understanding, a mirror, self-love or – a cocktail.

At the third workshop “Feminism & paper, rock, scissors”, 6 participants presented the stumbling blocks of women in society with the help of canvas, newspapers, stickers, paper and scissors.

The participants talked about gender stereotypes, how women are presented in the media and what catches their eyes or ears in everyday speech.

The finale of the With Art Violence Ends project was realized in the form of an exhibition picnic.

Twenty female participants worked hard on their works of art in workshops where they dealt with the themes of violence against women through the lens of art (film, painting and literature).
