Extended Deadline for Applications to the 12th Feminist Art Colony in Sićevo

The deadline for applications to participate in the 12th Feminist Art Colony in Sićevo, which will be held at the end of July 2026, has been extended. Women artists over the age of 18 from Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and North Macedonia are eligible to apply.

The call is open to all girls and women engaged in visual arts, regardless of their educational background. You do not need to be an established artist; what matters is your desire to create and to be part of a feminist artistic community.

To apply, please send a short biography, a motivation letter (up to 300 words), and four artworks in PDF or JPG format to centarzadevojke@gmail.com. The application deadline is June 15. Selected artists will be notified of the results on June 18.

The Feminist Art Colony was launched on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the first Art Colony in Sićevo, founded by painter and humanitarian Nadežda Petrović. The aim of the Feminist Art Colony is to empower ten women artists to incorporate feminist themes into their work, provide opportunities for collaborative creation and networking, and offer a public space for exhibiting their artworks.

The selection jury consists of:

  • Sanja Solunac – visual artist and activist;
  • Bojana Fuzinato – visual artist and curator;
  • Tatjana Nikolić – Executive Coordinator of the Center for Girls;
  • Marija Virijević – Program Coordinator of the Center for Girls.

A complementary program will be organized for participants during the Feminist Art Colony.

Participants will be provided with:

  • Travel expenses reimbursement upon submission of travel tickets to the Center for Girls (for participants coming from other countries, costs will be reimbursed by the end of the colony);
  • Accommodation (7 nights with all meals included);
  • Studio space and necessary art materials;
  • A group exhibition.

All participants of the Feminist Art Colony are required to sign a cooperation agreement, comply with the working regulations, leave three artworks created during the colony, and read the Rider document they will receive prior to the event.
